It is with great disappointment that the Maumee Uptown Business Association (MUBA) announces the cancellation of the 2020 Maumee Summer Fair.

“While it’s not a surprise we have to cancel in light of the public health concerns surrounding COVID-19, it certainly is sad news for the community members and supporters who enjoy this event,” said Allison Fiscus, MUBA President. “Avoiding crowds remains a mainstay of stopping the virus spread and we certainly want to keep our community safe by making this responsible decision.”

Event organizers Mike and Karen Dibling decided that making the decision early in the season would be in the best interest of the event and vendors. “We waited and watched other established events around us cancel and held out as long as we could in the planning process. While we will all miss the fun of the Maumee Summer Fair, it is my hope we will return stronger than ever next year,” said Mr. Dibling.

Over the next few weeks, event chairs and MUBA officers will work to return all registration fees and sponsorships received for this year’s fair. “We will take the energy we can’t spend on planning for this year and focus it on making the 2021 fair an event not to miss or forget.

The 2020 fair was scheduled for August 7th and 8th.  Next year’s Maumee Summer Fair will be held on Friday, August 13th and Saturday, August 14th. 2021.
