Dive into the underwater wonders of the Great Lakes with a local expert live on Facebook!

Carrie Sowden is an Underwater Archaeologist and the Archaeological Director at the National Museum of the Great Lakes.  She will join the Imagination Station in an exclusive discussion about what it’s like to study shipwrecks and some of her favorite underwater discoveries (Hint: it was in Lake Erie!) Viewers are encouraged to ask questions during the live conversation!

Sowden has worked on shipwreck projects in Maine, Florida, Alabama, Virginia, Portugal, the Azores, Turkey and Ohio.  In 2018, Sowden led a team of divers to an unknown shipwreck just off of Kelleys Island and determined the wreckage was the oldest ever discovered in Lake Erie.

This week, she’ll share more stories during a live conversation with Imagination Station’s Chief Scientist, Carl Nelson.  It’s a unique and exciting opportunity you won’t want to miss.
