Children's Wonderland Set to Sparkle Once More

If you grew up in northwest Ohio, chances are you remember visiting Children's Wonderland. The bright lights, winter scenes and animatronic figures never ceased to amaze, and we almost lost this holiday staple last year. Luckily, the City of Sylvania stepped in and offered to host the display at Sylvania Tam-O-Shanter, opening a new chapter and ensuring the holiday tradition would carry on.

This year marks the 47th year for Children's Wonderland, an indoor holiday-themed display that creates different imaginative scenes, many from popular children's holiday stories. Santa and his reindeer, elves, snowmen, fairies, friendly woodland creatures and more all grace these colorful vignettes.

New features this year are an interactive kids zone, bakery, Andersons general store, and Learning Express toy shop.

Children's Wonderland opens this Wednesday, December 15, 2010 and runs through the 30th. It's open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children 3 to 12-years-old, $2 for seniors and children 2-years-old and younger are free.
