Glass Arts Society (GAS) Conference Gallery Loop

The national Glass Art Society Conference is in Toledo this year to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the birth of the studio glass movement. While most of the conference activities are reserved for members of the Glass Art Society, local galleries and businesses have teamed up with The Arts Commission to host The Gallery Loop, a phenomenal evening of art on display throughout Downtown and the surrounding area.
The Gallery Loop will be held this Friday, June 15th, from 6:30-10:30pm. All gallery exhibitions are free and family friendly. TARTA busses will also be operating along the Gallery Loop route, offering free rides around downtown with special one night stops near participating gallery locations.Free parking is available at several locations near Gallery Loop venues. The Glass City Cafe offers "Themed Poetry Series: Tertian Fridays!". The

An exhibition of original works of art created for the You Are Here Toledo public
art project, made possible by AIGA Toledo & The Arts Commission. Facilitated
by tart: projects at the Davis Building Gallery, this exhibition of original works of
art will display a variety of submissions that were transformed into the 3’ x 3’
dots that have been installed throughout the greater Toledo area. Local artists,
designers, students and community members were asked to create work in
response to an assigned location. The ways in which the responses were
produced vary from traditional to digital, and mixed media. The exhibition
allows viewers to experience the original works as created before being
transformed into the conjoining dot.

The Toledo Museum of Art has had a glass studio in one form or another
since 1962. The Glass Pavilion, completed in 2006, allowed TMA to expand
the glass studio as prominent part of the museum experience. The glass
studio facilitates thousands of hours of programming each year, and all of
these activities rely on the dedicated work of a small group of individuals
who are, in fact, all artists themselves. This exhibition focuses on those
individuals who support and facilitate the TMA glass community through
their stewardship. It is an occasion to showcase their creative endeavors as
