Hudson Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibition titled “HELLO, My Name Is…”. This exhibition will run from October 7th through November 12th with opening night on First Friday, October 7th from 6-8pm. The opening night reception will coincide with Sylvania’s popular monthly Red Bird Arts District art walk.

Nine artists, all new to the gallery, will be featured in the show - six painters, two potters and one glass artist.
Jeri Hollister (Ann Arbor, MI), Donna Talerico (Cincinnatti, OH), Brian Reaume (Columbus, OH), Amanda Hope Cook (Columbus, OH), Wes Hunting (Princeton, WI), Laura Barnhardt Corle (Findlay, OH), Dennis Swartzlander (Adrian, MI), Emilie Beadle (Romulus, MI), and Tim Kennedy (Bloomington, IN)

For the majority of artists, the use of color is important and often explosive. Shape and line are also strong driving forces for artists and their work. These common tools are prevalent in all the work featured in this exhibition . For example, Amanda Hope Cook is currently producing a series of representational urban paintings with landmark neon signs as their subject matter. She works to recreate the way sunlight and color glistens off of a curve, or the range of transparencies the shadows of the neon tubing cast onto the painted letters of the surface below.

This eclectic group exhibition of established regional artists aspires to further enrich our dynamic local art scene by introducing nine artists whose work is new to both our gallery and region.

Opening Night, Friday October 7th, 6-8pm

Exhibit is free and open to the public.
