Widely regarded as one of the best, if not the best singer of the 20th century, Frank Sinatra is indisputably the owner of one of the most recognizable voices in the American musical canon. Known as much for his colorful life and personality as his music, Ol’ Blue Eyes is about as American as American music can get, the perfect soundtrack for a cold bottle of Coca~Cola and a slice of apple pie.

This Friday, local music impresario, Joel Hazard - himself no stranger to Toledo ears and stages - offers up a celebration of the music of Sinatra, celebrating the singer’s 101st birthday the Paula Brown Pub. The celebration comes complete with two of Sinatra’s great loves, Jack Daniel’s Whiskey and Marilyn Monroe.

Hazard, accompanied by Mike Lorenz, will perform a selection of iconic tunes, joined by Marilyn Monroe impersonator Kaity Kinloch for a select few songs. In addition, local connoisseur, Whiskey Pete, will be on hand with a selection of tastings, including Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select Whiskey.

Serving up some of the finest cocktails in town, The Pub is the perfect place to celebrate Sinatra’s iconic boozy legacy. Let loose into the wee small hours.

101 Years of Sinatra takes place Friday, December 9 at the Paula Brown Pub (912 Monroe St.), 7-10pm. http://paulabrownshop.com/pages/the-pub
