Matchbox 20 Visits the Toledo Zoo in September

The Toledo Zoo is excited to reveal the fifth concert announcement for the 2017 Live Nation Concert Series. Matchbox 20 with special guest Matt Nathanson will perform at the historic Zoo Amphitheatre on Tuesday, September 19 at 7:30 p.m.
Matchbox Twenty has sold over 30 million records worldwide, and earned countless accolades, including five GRAMMY® nominations, four American Music Award nods and the 2004 People’s Choice Award for “Favorite Musical Group.” This year marks the 20th anniversary of their Diamond-certified debut album Yourself or Someone Like You – which included Top 40 singles “Push,” “3AM” & more. Furthermore, lead singer, Rob Thomas, has proven one of the most highly decorated artists of recent years, receiving three GRAMMY® Awards, 11 BMI Awards, the first ever Songwriters Hall of Fame Hal David Starlight Award and two Billboard “Songwriter of the Year” honors for both his chart-topping solo work as well as collaborations with such legends as Santana, Mick Jagger and Willie Nelson. Thomas’ collaboration “Smooth” with Carlos Santana was also named the #2 “Most Popular Song Ever” on Billboard’s list of the “100 Most Popular Songs.” He was also named to Billboard’s “Top 20 List of Hot 100 Songwriters 2000-2011” at #5, and was the top ranking artist/songwriter on the list.
An exclusive online pre-sale for Toledo Zoo members will take place through Ticketmaster beginning Wednesday, June 7 at 10 a.m. and going through 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 8. The general public will be able to purchase tickets beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 9. At that time, tickets may also be purchased through Live Nation, Ticketmaster or at the Zoo Box Office daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
