The Glass City Balloon Race has grown tremendously over the past two years. From its inception in Maumee, to the incredible success in Perrysburg, and now on to the City of Rossford, this Annual event is one to mark on the calendar.

With a new partnership between the Glass City Balloon Race, Hollywood Casino, and the City of Rossford, this hot air balloon event has something for everyone. This year’s 3rd annual Glass City Balloon Race has been moved to Crossroads Parkway in Rossford and will be a destination for hot air balloons, food, music, fun, and plenty of family friendly activities. Twenty hot air balloons are currently scheduled to take to the skies for five flights and two static display evening glow events.

The Glass City Balloon Race will kick off at 6:15am on Friday, July 13th with a fun media flight launch from the property just east of Total Sports Rossford. Over the course of the weekend, there will be plenty for everyone:

Food Truck Row – Come grab a bite to eat from one of your favorite food trucks. There will be plenty of vendors on site to satisfy nearly any craving.

Beer Garden – Relax with a cold one and get off your feet in the beer garden during the day. Get to dancing when the live bands kick off on stage nightly at 6pm.

Fireworks – Firework shows will cap off both Friday and Saturday nights after each of the balloon glows.

Kids Zone – Inflatables, bounce houses, and more will keep the kids entertained between flights.

Much, much more! – There will also be a car show, helicopter rides, a 5K, vendors booths, crafts and more.

The three-day flight schedule has balloons launching Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings at 6:15am and Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm. Balloon glows will run from 9pm - 10pm with fireworks to follow.

“It’s somewhat difficult to plan exact times and locations very far in advance for a balloon flight” said Jake Tyler, event director and owner of Balloons Over Toledo. “Weather, wind speeds, and wind directions often require adjustments to the plan, but we can usually adapt and remain fairly consistent to the schedule to be sure that spectators get the most out of the event.”

The entire event is free including parking at designated areas throughout Crossroads in Rossford with shuttle service provided by TARTA. An up-to-date schedule will be maintained on the Glass City Balloon Race website and Facebook page .
