Call For Entries Underway For The 4th Annual Maumee Film Festival

The Maumee Uptown Business Association proudly presents the 4th annual Maumee Film Festival on Friday and Saturday, September 28 and 29 at the Maumee Indoor Theater.

Entries are currently being accepted for this special event. The festival is open to all filmmakers high school age or older for a chance to win cash prizes. Early bird registration ends Thursday, May 31. The deadline to register is Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Films selected from the following categories will be screened during the festival:

Short Films:  Competitive entries in a variety of genres for films with a maximum running time of 15-minutes in length will be considered. Films may be uploaded using Film Freeway.

Longer Than Short:  New this year! For the extended short film that fall between the short and medium-length films. Films with a running time of 15:01-29:59 would fit into this category.

Medium-Length Films: Also new this year! Filmmakers have 30 to 50 minutes to tell their stories through film.

Guest Presenters: The Maumee Film Festival welcomes Jon Alexander and Ben-Alex Dupris to this year’s festival. They are among several guest presenters taking part in this year’s festival.

Jon Alexander serves as Composite and Stereo Supervisor for Films, Rides & Venues for Lucasfilm at Industrial Light & Magic in San Francisco, Calif. His credits are found on a wide range of films including Ready Player One, Mother!, First They Killed My Father, Rogue One, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and many more.

Ben-Alex Dupris is an enrolled member of the Colville Confederated Tribe. He was a 2017 Sundance Institute producer's fellow, The Redford Center Recipient, a Fellow at Concordia Studio and he spent several months on the ground during the occupation at Standing Rock, North Dakota. He has also worked for VICE, Disney and HBO.
