July Featured Events

New York City's Hungry Marching Band has shared their creativity with audiences around the United States, South America, and Europe, and will now be bringing their live music spectacle to Toledo for the Art Loop! The HMB embodies the spirit of NYC’s streets with an inimitable brass sound and inspired, eclectic dance. Over the last 20 years a unique sonic voice has emerged from the recording of their four self-released albums—one that melds their musical knowledge of big band, traditional, and free jazz, with punk rock and global brass influences. Catch them at several spots along the Loop:
5pm | Renaissance Hotel
6:30pm | Hensville
After 9pm | The Attic on Adams after party

At Hensville gear up for Jeep Fest by cruising through the aisle of Jeeps lined up on N. St. Clair Street at Hensville. Local artists, Tony “Touch” Zawisza, Brad Scherzer, and Mercè Culp will be working live to create custom designed Jeep grills to be auctioned off during Jeep Fest (August 10-12). Join Birds Eye View Circus who will be out performing tightwire and giving the audience a chance to test their own balance, juggle, and try some of our other circus games. Jump on to one of the many mutant bikes built by Toledo Bikes! Dance with the TSA puppet club and jump in the giant bubbles from an Art Loop favorite, the Bubble Sharks! Visit Gathered Glassblowing Studio (23 N Huron) to see live glassblowing demos by a new glass artist, live musical act, and local beer!

Learn how to make your own chalk at the Imagination Station and then "rock the walk" by coloring in and adding to the floral inspired sidewalk chalk mural created by local artist, Caroline Jardine. All are welcome to grab a color of their choice and join in the fun!

Make a stop at the lot on the corner of 14th & Adams to mingle with the Glass City Crawlers and check out the giant inflatable wrangler in anticipation of Jeep Fest. Manos Community Garden will be open when you can enjoy kids activities, craft projects, garden tours, murals, raspberry picking, grilled hot dogs, cold lemonade and cookies. Continue on to Uptown Green (1904 Madison) and enjoy live music, food trucks, art activities with beer & local food samples by Market on the Green.
