The Zoo & Lights Before Christmas is CLOSED on New Year’s Day.

Winter Camps (Ages 5-12)
Jan. 3 & 4                                                             

Need some kid-free time to make returns or just cure that cabin fever? Drop off your child at the Zoo from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. for a winter adventure that promises exciting exhibit tours, amazing animal visitors, cool crafts and goofy games. Snooze at the Zoo
Jan. 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26                        

Spending the night at the Zoo is a wildly good time for families, groups and schools. During the overnight adventure, guests make enrichment for our animals, tour the Zoo, meet animals up close and enjoy delicious meals. Each Snooze lasts from 6:30 p.m. - 10 a.m. the next day. Come Grow with Us – A Behind-the-Scenes Horticulture Tour

Join the Zoo’s horticulture staff for a behind-the-scenes tour of our greenhouse facility; home to a unique variety of plants suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Get a sneak peek at what we have planned for our summer annual displays and take home tips on how to start and grow healthy annuals, vegetables and indoor foliage plants. Wine Tasting: Malawi

Horticulture Make & Take Workshop
Jan. 19                                                                  

Join us for another round of botany and bubbly at our Take-home Terrarium Workshop! What is a terrarium? A miniature garden planted in a glass container. Bring the beauty and benefits of a garden indoors this winter, when our horticulture staff provide all the materials and guidance needed to create a personalized terrarium. Reservations are required. Free Lucas County Admission
Jan. 19 – 21

In appreciation of Lucas County’s continuing support, Lucas County residents are admitted free to the Zoo from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. this Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend. Valid proof of residency required.

Camp for a Day
Jan. 21                                                                  

Have the kids spend their day off school at the Zoo! From 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. they will explore all about animals built for the extreme cold weather. Bundle up and check out our penguins, polar bears and other cool animals. Separate fee, pre-registration required. Available for ages 5 – 12. Zoo member discount applies.
