On Wednesday, March 6 and Thursday, March 7 at 7pm Toledo School for the Arts dancers from Alison Reny’s studio will present Sculpted.

Taking inspiration from sculptures around the world, choreographer Alison Reny has created a versatile and unique performance that plays with the movement of dance and the rooted design of sculpture. From well recognized large scale works of art, to subtle details of lesser known pieces, the dancers will bring to life an evening that molds dance and sculpture together.

The dancers learned about and researched each sculpture featured in the show. Some of the students also traveled to New York City where they visited The Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMa and did a walking tour to view the New York City sculptures that will be represented on stage.

"I feel like the dancers and I have been able to create on a deeper level this year, because we have been so inspired by the incredible art that is sculpture. We have incorporated more props, costumes, lighting and imagery than ever! It has been such a rewarding challenge to bring these sculptures to life through our interpretation and our love of dance,” said Alison Reny.

The performances are Wednesday, March 6 and Thursday, March 7 at 7pm at the Valentine Theatre. Tickets are $22, $16, and $10 and are available online at ts4arts.org or by calling the TSA Box Office at 419-246-8732 x226.
