On Friday March, 15 and Saturday, March 16 Toledo School for the Arts presents the Broadway Musical based upon the timeless American literary classic, Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. With a book by Allan Knee, music by Jason Howland and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein, this musical is sure to please a variety of audiences.

Based on Louisa May Alcott's life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested – her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she must do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America.

Little Women embodies the complete theatrical experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears and a lifting of the spirit. The powerful score soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache and hope – the sounds of a young America finding its voice.

“It is exciting to see the possibilities offered by staging Little Women in TSA’s Attic Theatre. As an inherently intimate performance venue The Attic supports the heart-felt, profound elements of the story and the interaction of the characters. The audience experience is rich, meaningful and immediate,”  said Devin Bader, Production Designer for the show.

The performances will take place on Friday, March 15 at 7pm and Saturday, March 16 at 2:30pm & 7pm in the Toledo School for the Arts Attic Theater. (333 14th St., Toledo, OH). Tickets are $16 for adults and $10 for students and seniors and are available online at ts4arts.org or by calling the TSA Box Office.
