SeaGate Food Bank Announces The “SCRAMBLE FOR FOOD™” Golf Event

Mindy Rapp, executive director of SeaGate Food Bank announced that the third annual “Scramble For Food™” golf fundraiser will be held Monday July 15 at Belmont Country Club in Perrysburg. “This friend-raising and fund-raising event promises to be a fun day on the course and we thank our golfing friends for their support of the SeaGate Food Bank ongoing mission” said Ms. Rapp.

Proceeds from “The Scramble For Food™” will help fund efforts to fight childhood and senior hunger. Major sponsor for the event WTOL. Openings are available for a maximum of 20 teams. A donation of $500 per foursome includes lunch, practice range, golf & cart fees, on-course refreshments, prizes and a light dinner afterwards. Hole Sponsorships are available at $150. SeaGate Food Bank is Ohio’s only independent food bank. It started in a garage in the 1970s as Toledo’s first food bank and is a 100% local organization.  In 1980, it became a 501(c)3 corporation and moved to its 85,000 square-foot distribution center. it provides food at no cost to over 400 non-profit food pantries and programs in eight NW Ohio counties, feeding over 130,000 each month.  With a full time staff of only ten, SeaGate Food Bank operates with an administrative cost of less than 1%, making it one of the most efficiently run non-profits in Ohio.
