Glass Artists to Give Free Talks at Toledo Museum of Art

Three artists teaching master classes in glass at the Toledo Museum of Art (TMA)will give free talks at the Glass Pavilion Thursday, Aug. 15 and Friday, Aug. 16.

Chris Ahalt and Grant Garmezy will discuss their work and their experiences teaching at TMA Thursday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. in the GlasSalon. Ahalt will explain how he uses flame to sculpt hollow glass into balloon animals while Garmezy will share information about his techniques for solid and blown sculpting animals in glass.

Jen Blazina’s free talk is Friday, Aug. 16 at 7 p.m in the GlasSalon. Blazina will share information about her innovative approaches with screen printing and kiln formed glass.

The three artists are part of a series of glass master classes that began at the Museum in May 2019 and continues through August 2019.
