Sunday, September 8 is an extra special day at the Toledo Zoo. It is the day they honor two very important groups of people, first responders and grandparents. Come honor these groups and celebrate with them.

It has often been said that America is the land of the free, because of the brave. At the Toledo Zoo, we whole-heartedly agree. Sunday, September 8 we will honor all of the first responders that help keep us safe with Day of Honor sponsored by Medical Mutual and supported by Marathon Petroleum Company. All military members, police, firefighters and EMTs receive FREE admission to the Zoo by showing their professional ID or badge.

To show your gratitude for the bravery of first responders, please sign our giant thank you cards in the Main Plaza. These cards will be presented to local safety organizations at 1:30 p.m. in a short ceremony.

Whether you call them mimi and papa or gammy and granpy, grandparents hold a special place in all our hearts. Sunday, September 8, we are also honoring grandparents. All grandparents receive FREE admission when accompanied by at least one grandchild.

Bring the whole family and celebrate both groups at your Toledo Zoo on Sunday, September 8!
