The Party – A Celebration of the Arts in Sylvania

Tie on a bandana, pull on some boots and channel your inner cowboy! The Sylvania Community Arts Commission is honoring artist Dave Wisniewski at The Party this year. Dave is known for his larger than life depictions of the West. Enjoy an exclusive look at Dave's work, a cash bar, heavy grazing and silent and live auctions. The SCAC will be auctioning off a Dave Wisniewski original painting and a stay at an apartment in Valencia, Spain, among many other fantastic items to support their programs. In addition to celebrating the arts in Sylvania, THE PARTY raises vital funds for the Sylvania Community Arts Commission.

2019 Hall of Fame Honoree – Dave Wisniewski

Dave’s perseverance in creating art is an inspiration to our community. He has had a passion for painting since he was sin grade school and was able to pursue a career in art with at a record store in the late 70s where is created art for displays and promotions in the store. Dave soon found his eyesight failing and was declared legally blind. The Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired worked with Dave to adjust to this major life change and asked him what he wanted to do. Dave knew that he was still an artist and still wanted to create, despite the challenge of losing a significant portion of his vision. With the help of the Bureau, Dave studied art at the University of Toledo and found new ways to create. He paints big and his signature larger than life cowboys grace the walls of many homes in Sylvania and across the country. The Sylvania Community Arts Commission is thrilled to welcome Dave into the Sylvania Arts Hall of Fame.
