Gathered to Feature Marilyn Yakumithis, Alan Iwamura

Gathered Glassblowing Studio, downtown Toledo’s premier studio gallery, is proud to showcase Marilyn Yakumithis as a Featured Artist in their ongoing series, Loop Nights at Gathered. Gathered will host an opening and public reception to be held on Thursday, November 21st 2019, in conjunction with The Arts Commission Art Loop. As part of Gathered’s Featured Artist Series, Yakumithis will be displaying a collection of new functional jewelry pieces titled Remnants. Remnants is a collection of Yakumithis’ works influenced by ancient ruins and metalsmithing processes of antiquity filtered through a contemporary lens. Yakumithis received her BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2015, and has had her designs featured in the television series Empire and recently completed a residency at Ilias Lalaounis Jewelry Museum in Athens, Greece. 

A opening reception with refreshments and music by John Barile will occur from 6-9pm.

Gathered will also feature a glassblowing demonstration by Alan Iwamura, Glass Studio Manager at the Toledo Museum of Art. 

Loop Nights at Gathered, a series of Featured Artist receptions hosted in conjunction with the Art Loop at Gathered Glassblowing Studio, announces new works by Marilyn Yakumithis with a public reception on November 21st, 2019 from 6-9pm.  Gathered’s Hot Shop will be featuring a demonstration with Alan Iwamura, along with letterpress demonstrations from upstairs studio Black Iron Press throughout the evening.
