The Arts Commission's Momentum and Art in Public Places programs are pleased to share the new location for Matthew Hoffman's project, "You Are Beautiful".

This sculpture, originally commissioned for the 2019 Momentum Toledo Festival at Promenade Park, is now part of the Art in Public Places permanent collection at International Park on the eastside of the Maumee River at The Docks.

This installation is the first of its kind, a blown-up version of a sticker. You Are Beautiful started as a small sticker in 2002 in Chicago by artist Matthew Hoffman. Now, over 5 million stickers in 100 languages have traveled around the globe many times over. All with the simple goal to spread positivity.

The new permanent piece features text hand-drawn by Hoffman and manufactured in his studio. This towering 8-foot, double-sided piece offers a smile in any direction with “You Are Beautiful” facing west and “You Are Doing Great” facing east.

The inspirational piece can be seen from Promenade park. The project is funded through a partnership between the City of Toledo's One Percent for Art Program and Momentum Festival.
