Head Out of This World during Mission to Mars Week

There are few places that evoke wonder quite like space.  Miles beyond Earth’s atmosphere are dark, vast landscapes, unexplored planets and expansive galaxies that are sure to capture the imaginations of many.  As NASA prepares its latest technology for an epic journey across space, Imagination Station has planned activities to bring Mars to you!

To commemorate the launch of NASA’s Mars Rover, Toledo’s Science Center will explore rockets, rovers, craters and more.  Make plans to join us for Mission to Mars - a week jam-packed with virtual activities about intergalactic travel and exploration.

The next-gen rover, known as Perseverance, is designed to help astronomers better understand the climate and geology of Mars and search for signs of ancient life. Fun fact: it’s also equipped with a tiny helicopter that will explore the planet by air!  Perseverance is expected to land on Mars in February of 2021 and spend more than 680 days, or one Mars year, gathering samples and data to bring back to Earth.
