Toledo Lucas County Public Library has begun offering Dial-a-Story: Free, recorded stories for children, teens, and adults! Listen by phone any time of day or night.Listeners can reach Dial-a-Story at 419.745.9700 and choose the age group and story - stories are updated every two weeks.
“Dial-a-Story is perfect for caregivers who need something to occupy their child on the bus, in the car, or waiting in line,” said Youth Services Coordinator, Nancy Eames. “These stories help develop a child's listening skills and expands their imagination as they have to envision the characters."
The free program can help children escape digital media and learn to enjoy the simple act of reading. Dial-A-Story will also help young children get ready to read and help school-aged children progress better when taking standardized reading tests.
