Sister Port cities Port Clinton and Toledo are uniting for Port Clinton Night at the Mud Hens on Sunday, August 22 at Fifth Third Field with the first pitch at 4:05 p.m. Port Clinton’s Mayor Mike Snider helped spearhead this inaugural event with an estimated 300 people signed up to make the trip from Port Clinton to downtown Toledo on the Jet Express.

President & CEO of Destination Toledo, Lance Woodworth, will be in attendance to welcome our neighbors to the east to watch as the Mud Hens fight to stay in first place. “Toledo is a major port city and, to give a nod to the past, lake travel was one of the first modes of transportation for passenger travel,” Woodworth said. “It is great to welcome in the fastest ferry on the Great Lakes and nearly 300 passengers into our newly energized downtown.” Woodworth is optimistic that more lake travel can bring future visitors into Toledo and the region.

The Jet Express ferry will dock in the basin at Fountain Square between the Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Bridge at approximately 3:15 p.m. Media is encouraged to join the Destination Toledo welcome committee to greet our Port Clinton area visitors.
