SAME Café Expands, Starting with SAME Café in Toledo Library

So All May Eat / SAME Café creates community through healthy food access and is the longest-running nonprofit restaurant in the country. The café provides delicious healthy meals to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. Each guest who comes through the door is treated exactly the same and orders from the daily-changing menu and then participates in the mission by donating time, money, or produce.

After nearly 15 years of serving meals to guests experiencing food insecurity in Denver, SAME Café is expanding nationally, starting with SAME Café Toledo. Toledo was chosen from a competitive slate of cities hoping to improve their communities through a community café. The Toledo efforts were led by Steve North (SAME Cafe Toledo Advisory Board Chair) and Erin Peterson. 

SAME Café will be located at Main Library in downtown Toledo in the existing cafe space. SAME will be investing approximately $200,000 in renovations and equipment and is currently searching for an Executive Director for the new Toledo location. Local applicants are encouraged to apply. 

An opening date will be announced after the executive director is hired and the renovation contract is finalized.
