Tony Packo’s® will continue to swing and sway with the iconic sounds of the Cakewalkin’ Jass Band’s New Orleans style jazz music.

With several return engagements under their belts at the Original Packo’s, the band continues their brand of musical magic with a special performance at the Sylvania Packo’s location at 5822 W Alexis on Friday, September 23th from 5pm to 8pm.

The Cakewalkin’ Jass Band has been playing consistently since 1968, making them the city’s oldest jazz ensemble of its kind. The group gained much of their notoriety when they began regular gigs at Packo’s in 1969. After their 50th anniversary concert at the restaurant in 2019, they kicked off once-a-month performances there, which Packo’s is thrilled to once again be able to offer to its guests.

Future Cakewalkin’ Jass Band concerts are scheduled at Tony Packo’s on Front Street on Thursday, October 13th.

Tony Packo’s is currently celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2022. Founded in 1932 by the first-generation Hungarian-American husband and wife team of Tony and Rose Packo, the iconic eatery has served millions of guests over its long history with its famous menu of Hungarian-inspired offerings, most notably the Packo’s Hot Dog and secret recipe Chili.

2022 also marks the 50th anniversary of the first celebrity bun-signing, and the 50th anniversary of the television show M*A*S*H, which figures prominently into the restaurant’s legend.
