Each year, Heritage Ohio, Ohio’s statewide coordinating agency for historic preservation, honors the people, places and projects that exemplify a commitment to growth through historic preservation and community revitalization. This year, Toledo’s Overmyer Building has been selected as one of three finalists for the Best Commercial Rehabilitation Award. The Best Commercial Rehabilitation Award is presented to the best total building rehabilitation project based on proper preservation techniques. Historic rehabilitation projects completed between 2022-23 are eligible for this year’s award. This year, the award ceremony will be Tuesday, October 15th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the historic Midland Theatre in downtown Newark. The award ceremony kicks off the 2024 Heritage Ohio Annual Conference and is free and open to anyone to attend.
