About the book:
A librarian and an archaeologist on the run fake an engagement to save their lives, setting off an adventure that blurs the line between survival and romance.

Daniela Gutierrez has been in love with her brother’s best friend for as long as she can remember — until he went missing a year ago during an archaeological expedition. While traveling solo in Greece, the librarian discovers that Theo is very much alive, though the criminals holding him hostage suggest he is in serious danger.

Dr. Theo Galanis, an expert in ancient Greek archaeology, has been abducted by artifact smugglers searching for a priceless gemstone known as the Eye of the Minotaur. What was meant to be a straightforward job quickly escalates when a small lie convinces their captors that Theo and Dani are engaged. To stay alive, they must combine her research skills and his expertise to solve a centuries-old Minoan mystery while maintaining the appearance of a romance.

With fewer than six days to find the jewel, underground societies, mythological forces and relentless abductors stand in their way. As they navigate ancient ruins and temples, an even greater threat emerges: the possibility that their feelings for each other are real.
