Bestselling Author Alka Joshi to Discuss New Novel Six Days in Bombay in Toledo

What:
The Toledo Lucas County Public Library welcomes internationally bestselling author Alka Joshi for a conversation about her new novel, Six Days in Bombay.

Joshi appears as part of the Library’s Authors! Series, which brings nationally recognized writers to Toledo. The event will include a moderated discussion and audience Q&A.

Joshi is the author of the Jaipur Trilogy, a historical fiction series set in Jaipur, India, that follows interconnected characters across several decades. The first book in the series, The Henna Artist, was a New York Times bestseller, a Reese Witherspoon Book Club pick, a Los Angeles Times bestseller, a Toronto Star bestseller and a Cosmopolitan Best Audiobook pick.

About the book:
Set in 1958, Bombay is a city of postcolonial glamour and simmering tension. As secrets from the past surface, each must decide whether to leave behind the life they know to build something new in a changing India.

About the author:
Alka Joshi is the New York Times bestselling author of the Jaipur Trilogy, which has been translated into more than 20 languages and is being adapted for television. Born in Jodhpur, India, she draws from her heritage to craft stories that explore identity and cultural transition.

Before publishing her first novel at age 62, Joshi spent decades running her own advertising and marketing agency. She lives in California.
