The Sylvania Community Orchestra cordially invites the community to their Americana 250 concert on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at 4:00 pm. Celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States of America with this free community concert, held at Lourdes University’s Franciscan Center. The Sylvania Community Orchestra (SCO) and Sylvania Arts are excited to present a program which includes perennial favorites such as Sousa’s El Capitan, Copland’s Variations on a Shaker Melody, and Bernstein's Overture to “West Side Story” as well as tributes to George Gershwin and Louis Armstrong. Your friends and neighbors of the SCO are having a great time preparing this concert and can’t wait to share this music with you.
Through partnerships with youth orchestras, our young artists solo competition, multi-generational rehearsals, and collaborations with other community ensembles, the SCO strives to enrich the cultural life of our community and foster a lifetime of musical creativity for instrumentalists of all ages. More information about supporting or participating in the SCO can be found at SylvaniaArts.org and by connecting with us through Facebook or Instagram.
The Americana 250 concert is brought to you through the generous support of our friends and sponsors: Touchstone Wealth Partners, Lourdes University, the Ohio Arts Council, the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo, the City of Toledo, Lucas County, and the dedicated members of the SCO.
This is a FREE event. Donations are welcomed at the door to support the Sylvania Community Orchestra’s work in our community.
The Franciscan Center at Lourdes University located at 6832 Convent Blvd. Sylvania, OH 43560.
