Toledo Opera to Hold Chorus Auditions for Aida and H.M.S. Pinafore

Toledo Opera is holding auditions for chorus positions (soprano, alto, tenor, and bass) for the 2026-27 season. The 2026-27 season will feature: Verdi’s Aida (August - October 2026 commitment) and Gilbert & Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore (November 2026 - February 2027 commitment). All past, current, and perspective choristers should plan to audition.
Auditions are scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026 between 11:00 a.m., and 5:00 p.m., and on Sunday, May 31, 2026 between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Those interested in auditioning should prepare one memorized selection, in Italian or English (if possible), which best demonstrate their vocal range and abilities. A pianist will be provided. Those auditioning should plan to bring a current resume, a headshot, and printed sheet music. Toledo Opera is seeking the following singers: all voice types for a SATB chorus.

Valentine Theatre
Mixed voices: soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, bass. Music rehearsals begin on July 19 from 5:00 p.m., to 7:00 p.m., and run weekly on Sundays through September 27. Staging rehearsals will begin September 28 and typically run Monday through Friday in the evenings and on Saturdays and Sundays in the afternoons/evenings.

Valentine Theatre
Mixed voices: soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, bass. Music rehearsals begin on November 22 from 5:00 p.m., to 7:00 p.m., and run weekly on Sundays. There will be a break for the holidays from December 13 until January 10. Music rehearsals will conclude on January 31, and staging rehearsals will begin on February 1. Staging rehearsals typically run Monday through Friday in the evenings and on Saturdays and Sundays in the afternoons/evenings.
