Bestselling Romance Authors Join Toledo Library ‘Romance-Con Presents’ Series

Romance-Con Presents, the Toledo Lucas County Public Library’s author series celebrating the romance genre, returns following the success of Romance-Con and a winter appearance by Jo Segura, featuring three free events with bestselling authors Julie Soto, Lindsey Kelk, Mazey Eddings, Nikki Payne and Beverly Jenkins.

“Romance readers are some of the most passionate and engaged audiences we serve,” said Allison Fiscus, the Toledo Library’s adult services coordinator. “After the incredible response to Romance-Con, the Toledo Library wanted to create more opportunities for readers to connect with the authors they love and discover emerging and new-to-them voices in the genre.”

The series highlights the range and growing popularity of romance fiction while offering readers the opportunity to engage directly with today’s leading voices in the genre through conversation, audience Q&A and book signings.

Romance-Con Presents opens with the return of Julie Soto, who will join Lindsey Kelk for a discussion on a variety of topics, including writing romance. The series continues with a special program featuring Mazey Eddings in recognition of Disability Pride Month. It concludes with Beverly Jenkins — a pioneering voice in romance — in a conversation with Nikki Payne that celebrates the genre’s past, present and future.

Tickets for all Romance-Con Presents programs are free and can be reserved beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, May 11 at toledolibrary.org/romance-con. Books will be available for purchase at each event, with a signing and photo opportunity to follow.

Romance-Con, the Toledo Library’s daylong celebration of the genre, returns to Main Library Saturday, Nov. 7 with headlining authors Adriana Herrera and Ali Hazelwood.
