Lake Erie West Regional Council has released the public comment draft of the Regional Active Transportation Plan, outlining a shared vision to expand safe, accessible, and sustainable walking, biking, and rolling infrastructure across the Lake Erie West region.
The draft plan is now available for public review, and comments are being accepted through Monday, June 1, 2026.
The 2026-2030 Regional Active Transportation Plan is designed to make short trips easier without a car, improve safety for people of all ages and abilities, and support healthier communities, local economies, and reduced environmental impact.
“Active transportation plays a critical role in how people move through and experience their communities,” said Sandy Spang, Executive Director of Lake Erie West Regional Council. “This plan represents hundreds of hours of collaboration among public agencies, partner organizations, and residents across the region. Continued public input is essential to ensuring the final plan reflects community priorities and provides a clear, actionable roadmap for the future.”
