Environment & Ecology Scholarship and Award Winners to be Recognized at S.A.V.E. Awards Ceremony

S.A.V.E. (Science Alliance for Valuing the Environment) is hosting an awards ceremony to recognize scholarship recipients planning to study the environment and ecology as well as Toledo area middle school students striving to make a difference for the environment. The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 12, with hospitality beginning at 6:00 p.m. followed by the awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m. The awardees will be recognized in the Franciscan Center Theater, located on Lourdes University’s campus at 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania, OH.

The students being awarded scholarships will be attending the University of Michigan and Michigan State University to study fields related to environmental sustainability. Other awardees are Toledo area students in the 8th and 9th grades receiving cash awards as recognition for their sustainability projects. 

“These scholarships encourage students to think of integral ecology, that is, expanding the concept of caring for Earth by linking ecology, spirituality, and sustainability into all areas of life in unison with the seventeen UN Sustainability Goals for 2020-2030” says Sr. Rosine Sobczak, OSF, S.A.V.E.
