It’s Friday Begins June 5 at the Toledo Museum of Art
Daily Dose | 05/27/2026 3:00 pm
On three summer Fridays, the Toledo Museum of Art will offer a special opportunity to the people of this region: the chance to reset through music, movement, making, and art appreciation.
The event is for anyone—girl’s night, dates, or even solo adventurers—who wants to end their week with creativity and community.
“It’s Friday” will be held on June 5, July 24, and August 14. The June 5 event will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and the other two will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, all at the Glass Pavilion. While the event is free and open to the public, activities cost $30 per person with members receiving a 10% discount. Admission to Cursed! can also be reserved when registering for the event.
Each event will offer live music, cash bar and a different guided activity as listed below.
June 5: Yoga with Kristen Sanders (bring your own mat)
July 24: Plein air landscape painting with Sarah Ritchey (Plein air painting is the act of painting outdoors).
Aug 14: Activity reveal coming soon
People who attend “It’s Friday” will learn new ideas and enjoy some of the region’s most accomplished artists and educators.
For example:
Kristen Sanders will lead the yoga exercise at the June 5 event. She is an art educator with over twenty-three years of teaching experience, deeply rooted in the Toledo community. Her academic background includes a BFA in painting and photography from Bowling Green State University and a master’s degree in art education from the University of Toledo. As a Certified Yoga Teacher, she integrates mindfulness, movement, and intentional breathing into her curriculum to support both creative exploration and emotional well-being.
Shawn Sanders will provide music on June 5. He is a Toledo, Ohio–based freelance musician, known for his work as a guitarist, harmonica player, and singer. His music spans indie rock, rockabilly, classic rock, and original compositions, blending traditional influences with his own creative voice.
Sarah Richey will teach Plein Air Landscape Painting at the July 24 event. A long-time art instructor in the Toledo area, Sarah will lead participants of all skill levels in creating their own plein air landscape artwork to take home. (Plein Air is the act of painting outdoors).
In addition, the Cursed! The Power of Magic in the Ancient World remains open and is available as an additional ticket experience for non-museum members and free for museum members.
