Flag City Honor Flight Launches 2nd 2026 Mission

Flag City Honor Flight (FCHF) is preparing for its 35th mission on June 9,  taking 78 veterans, primarily from the Vietnam War era to Washington, D.C. to visit memorials built in their honor.

The organization relies on community donations and flight sponsorships to continue the mission.  As a 100% volunteer-led organization, every dollar received goes directly toward honoring and thanking Veterans for their service.

Schedule: Departing from Toledo Express Airport in the morning, Veterans will embark on a one-day trip of a lifetime. The itinerary includes visits to the Iwo Jima Memorial, Air Force Memorial, Navy Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, and Memorials for WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.

General Flight Details:

5:30 am - Veterans & Guardians arrive at Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport

6:30 am - Depart for Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

9:00 am – Tour Marine (Iwo Jima) Memorial

9:30 am – Tour Air Force Memorial

10:15 am - Arrive at Arlington National Cemetery: Changing of Guard, Wreath laying

11:30 am – Lunch and visit Vietnam, Korean, and WWII Memorials

3:00 pm - Tour Navy Memorial

4:15 pm – Dinner at FDR /MLK Memorials

5:35 pm - Arrive at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

7:00 pm – Depart for Grand Aire Hangar, Toledo

8:00 pm – Arrive at Grand Aire Hanger & Welcome Home celebration

9:00 pm - Depart for home (buses or with family/friends)

Welcome Home Celebration:

The public is invited to a Welcome Home celebration to honor returning Veterans.

Doors Open: 6:00 p.m.

Approximate time Flight Expected: 8:00 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to wave flags, cheer loudly, and shake hands with returning Veterans.
