Get Fired Up for Metal Makers Week

Science is heating up! Come learn how to create from molten metal during Metal Makers Week, happening from June 2 through June 7 at Imagination Station, presented by North Star Bluescope Steel.

All week long, Imagination Station’s lower atrium will turn into a foundry where visitors can explore what it’s like to create a piece out of liquid metal that they get to keep. First, they’ll pick a design, press it into sand and then watch as hot, liquid metal is poured over top. Once cooled, visitors can see every detail hardened into metal to take home.

Metal Makers Week dives into the science of pewter casting in a fun and imaginative way. By safely working with molten metal, kids learn about the properties of matter and the physical changes that occur.
