The Toledo Lucas County Public Library will welcome bestselling fiction, romance and horror authors this summer through its visiting author programs, including 2026 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction winner Daniel Kraus.

Authors! with Daniel Kraus
Thursday, July 16: 7–8 p.m., Main Library
2026 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction winner Daniel Kraus joins Authors! to discuss his latest novel, The Sixth Nik. A Midland, Michigan native, Kraus is also known for acclaimed fiction and nonfiction works, including his collaboration with Guillermo del Toro on The Shape of Water. The event features a 45-minute presentation followed by audience Q&A. Tickets are available for purchase at Eventbrite. Each ticket includes a copy of the book.
Romance-Con Presents: Mazey Eddings
Saturday, July 18: 11 a.m.–1 p.m., Main Library
Bestselling author Mazey Eddings will discuss romance writing, mental health representation and her latest work during this installment of Romance-Con Presents. With roots in Ohio and Philadelphia, Eddings now lives in North Carolina. Each program features a discussion with the author followed by audience Q&A. Books will be available for sale at the event. A signing and photo opportunity will follow the talk. This program is free to attend and advance registration is encouraged. New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kelly Rimmer will discuss her new novel, The Story Keeper. Online Romance Book Club Visiting Author: The Open Era by Edward Schmit

Author Edward Schmit joins the Online Romance Book Club to discuss his debut novel, The Open Era. The story follows professional tennis player Austin Hardy as he becomes the first openly gay man to compete in a Grand Slam tournament, navigating sudden media attention, anxiety and an unexpected connection with rival player Diego Cruz.
