Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful and the River Gallery Studio invite the community to experience Toledo's public art renaissance from an entirely new vantage point, the deck of the Sandpiper. The Mural Tour on the Sandpiper is a one-of-a-kind sunset cruise on the Maumee River that celebrates creativity, community, and the rapidly growing 100 Works of Art initiative. The event will set sail on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
As the Sandpiper glides through downtown Toledo, guests will take in scenic riverfront views while hearing directly from acclaimed mural artist Dean Davis. Davis will share the stories, inspiration, and lasting impact behind the public murals that are reshaping the city's creative identity. Light hors d'oeuvres and a relaxed atmosphere will give attendees the chance to connect with fellow art supporters, community leaders, and creative champions in a setting that simply cannot be replicated on land.
"Public art is transforming how people feel about our city. This evening lets the community celebrate that progress while fueling the next wave of murals coming to Greater Toledo,” said Adam Cassi, Executive Director of Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful.
"Every mural tells a story about who we are and where we are headed," said Dean Davis of the River Gallery Studio. "Bringing supporters together on the river, surrounded by the artwork they helped make possible, is a reminder that this movement belongs to all of us."
Proceeds from the cruise directly benefit 100 Works of Art, the regional initiative dedicated to bringing 100 large-scale public murals to the Greater Toledo area. The project transforms everyday spaces into vibrant places of inspiration, supports working artists, and strengthens community pride through accessible public art experiences.
