Sylvania Invites the Community to a Free Outdoor Movie Night Celebrating America 250

Families, friends, and dog lovers are invited to Downtown Sylvania on Red Bird First Friday, September 4 for a fun-filled evening under the stars as the community gathers for a Free Outdoor Movie Night featuring the award-winning comedy Best in Show. The event is part of the Red Bird First Friday celebration and is an official venue of Ohio Goes to the Movies, a statewide initiative celebrating America 250.

The evening offers entertainment for all ages before the movie begins, including:

Red Bird starts in downtown Sylvania-5 pm
Dog Parade – 6:30 p.m.
Fun Dog Show – 7:00 p.m.
Movie: Best in Show – 8:00 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, enjoy the lively downtown atmosphere, and celebrate community while taking part in this special America 250 event.

As an Official Ohio Goes to the Movies venue, Sylvania is proud to join communities across Ohio in commemorating the nation's 250th anniversary through shared cultural experiences. This special movie night highlights the power of film to bring people together while celebrating the spirit of community that has defined America for generations.

The event is presented through a partnership of Red Bird Sylvania, Starlite Theater Group, Sylvania Arts, and Heritage Sylvania, with support from the Ohio Arts Council, The Arts Commission, Lucas County, and the City of Toledo. The evening is free and open to the public.
