Toledo Library Celebrates Toledo Pride With August Programs Across Lucas County

As Toledo's annual Pride celebration approaches, the Toledo Lucas County Public Library will offer programs throughout August, including book discussions, poetry events, creative activities and the return of Family Pride Night. The lineup invites community members to celebrate LGBTQIA+ voices, stories and experiences.

Programs will take place at four Library locations and online throughout August. For registration details, visit toledolibrary.org/pride. Please note, programs are subject to change.

In addition to public programs, new "Your Story Matters" merchandise will be available for preorder beginning Monday, Aug. 3.

The collection includes a T-shirt, crewneck sweatshirt and tote bag. Orders can be placed online through Monday, Aug. 31 and will be shipped or available for pickup at Jupmode (located at 1811 Monroe St.) by mid-September.

Paper Flower Crowns
Wednesday, Aug. 5: 1:30–2:30 p.m., Kent
Celebrate Toledo Pride by making a paper flower crown inspired by LGBTQIA+ figures Frida Kahlo and Marsha P. Johnson.

Pride & Poetry with Jonie McIntire
Thursday, Aug. 6: 6:30–8 p.m., West Toledo
Read, share and experience poetry by and about LGBTQIA+ authors—and share your own work.

Family Pride Night
Wednesday, Aug. 12: 6–8 p.m., Sanger
Celebrate Toledo Pride with the Toledo Library at its annual Family Pride Night! Friends and families of all ages are welcome. This year's event will take place on the front lawn of Sanger Branch and feature activities and crafts from the Library and community partners.

Online Romance Book Club featuring author Edward Schmit

Join the Harris-Elmore and Genoa Public Libraries for their Small Town PRIDE traveling book club. Community members will discuss LGBTQIA+ literature in a welcoming environment open to LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies.
