Toledo Museum of Art Presents TMA Forever, Celebrating Generations of Toledo's Connection to the Museum
Daily Dose | 08/12/2026 4:30 pm
The Toledo Museum of Art was founded in 1901 to share the transformative power of art with our community.
Almost everyone in Toledo has a TMA memory—you may have taken classes here as a child, or experienced life-changing moments of celebration or introspection in our galleries, or simply been proud to bring your family or out-of-town guests to visit with your favorite work of art.
To celebrate that enduring bond, TMA today announces TMA Forever, a special exhibition that offers visitors the chance to reconnect with the art that has inspired wonder, curiosity and creativity for generations. On view Sept. 12, 2026, through Jan. 3, 2027, the exhibition brings together more than 40 remarkable works from TMA's world-renowned collection.
TMA Forever will be exhibited in the Glass Pavilion.
“These are the works that helped generations of Toledoans fall in love with this Museum, and TMA Forever is a chance to get reacquainted with them — to stand in front of a painting you remember from a school trip or a Sunday visit and see it with new eyes," said Anna Marley, Director of Curatorial Affairs at the Toledo Museum of Art.
TMA Forever includes names and works that are so familiar to those who love TMA. In addition to the Libbey Punch Bowl, the exhibition list includes works by Degas, Van Gogh, Cole, Courbet, Rodin, Tissot, Hopper, Cross and Pissarro.
“The Glass Pavilion will be a terrific venue for TMA Forever,” Dr. Marley said. “There will be no charge for this special exhibition. What especially excites me is that we will have some of our younger visitors who will have the chance to experience these favorites for the first time, as well as enjoying new additions to the collection by artists including Etal Adnan, Marie-Victoire Jaquotot, Mickalene Thomas, and Kay Walkingstick.”
SPECIAL MEDIA PREVIEW
TMA will host a special media preview on September 10, from 11 AM to 12 PM. There will be more information to follow.
