Hudson Gallery Presents "Peeking Through Cones" featuring Carrie Day & Laura Dirksen

Hudson Gallery is excited to announce the opening of a new exhibition featuring two Ohio artists. “Peeking through Cones” will feature vivid non-objective, abstract paintings by Carrie Day and small to large ceramic sculptures by Laura Dirksen.

Carrie Day states: “I use child-like mark making, color, movement, humor, playfulness, and rhythm to sort through ideas and memories.” Day’s process is free flowing and instinctual, confident and quick, trusting in the internal mechanisms that guide her. Her ultimate goal is to "penetrate into the hearts and minds of my viewers and transport them to new places that only we can go together.”

Laura Dirksen states: “my work embodies my own cognitive dissonance and becomes a vehicle to understand my conflicted and evolving value system.” Growing up on a farm and working with the clay pulled from the surrounding ground, Dirksen has illuminated those early impulses into her current body of work.

Join in during the Artist Reception on Friday, September 4th for this inspiring and challenging exhibition.
