Vitality Arts Show to Open at Toledo Museum of Art

The Toledo Museum of Art will host its annual Vitality Arts Show Opening on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Green Building's Education Hallway. The free, family-friendly reception celebrates creativity, lifelong learning and community through original artwork created by older adults.  Visitors should enter through the Plough Entrance.

The exhibition features work from participants in the Vitality Arts Program, which brings high-quality arts instruction to senior centers throughout the Toledo area. Spanning a range of media and artistic styles, the show reflects a year of participants exploring new techniques, forming connections, and finding new ways to express their perspectives through art. 

"Every piece in this show represents a year of discovery — new skills, new friendships, and a continuing sense of purpose," said Grace Toth, Emma Leah Bippus Director of Education at the Toledo Museum of Art. Toledo Museum of Art. "The Vitality Arts Show is a chance for our community to see how creativity and connection can flourish at any age." 

The Museum invites family, friends and community members to attend and celebrate the artists' accomplishments and the power of creative aging.

The Vitality Arts Show Opening is supported by E.A. Michelson Philanthropy and the Area Office on Aging of Northwest Ohio.
