Don't Forget Buckeye Beer
In 1967 Meister Brau Lite was first introduced and brewed at the Buckeye Beer plant in Toledo, Ohio. It had a special reduced calorie recipe. A ruling from the FDA allowed it to become the first beer ever to be advertised as low calorie. Miller Brewing bought the rights to Buckeye Beer and Meister Brau Lite in 1972. They quickly began using this unique light recipe and dubbed it Miller Lite.
Don't forget that Toledo was originally a brewing town and great beer is still brewed here by Maumee Bay Brewing Company.
