Rossford Ohio Information

Rossford, Ohio

Rossford, Ohio is located just five miles south of Toledo, across the Maumee River between Toledo and Perrysburg. The city was founded in 1898 when Edward Ford purchased 173 acres on the Maumee River for his glass making plant. That plant would become the world-renown Libbey-Owens-Ford glass foundry (now Pilkington) and help give the Toledo area the title of “Glass Capital of the World.”

Rossford’s location on the river affords its 6,500 residents a marina for easy access to the water and magnificent views from several areas in the city. It is also home to a baseball/softball complex and Belmont Country Club.

The city’s schools consist of three elementary schools, one junior high and one high school, as well as one Catholic school. The public schools are rated as “effective” by the State of Ohio.
