Cal Poly Tragedy in Toledo

1960: a Curtiss C-46 propliner, operated as a domestic charter flight by Arctic Pacific, crashed and caught fire on takeoff at the Toledo Express Airport. The aircraft, a veteran of World War II, was carrying the Cal Poly Mustangs college football team back home from their 56-0 loss to BGSU. Of the 48 on board, 22 were killed, including both pilots, 16 players, a student manager, and a Cal Poly football booster.
