Call For Artists: Waterville Community Mural

Open to any artist age 18 and over residing in Ohio or Michigan. The Waterville Area Arts Council is partnering with the Friends of the Library and the Waterville branch of the Toledo/Lucas County Public library to develop a permanent mosaic mural.  The mural will be a community-based art project supervised by artist Gail Christofferson.   

The final piece of artwork will be displayed within the Waterville library.  The mural will measure 13’ x 6’ and will be composed of art glass.  Through various designated work sessions, community members will be invited to help create the mosaic under Gail’s supervision. The theme of the design will need to reflect the joy of reading and books and appeal to all ages.  While creativity is certainly encouraged, please bear in mind that the design will need to be translated into the mosaic format.  Please no renditions of either Waterville bridge.

$1,200.00 will be awarded for original design and requested modifications. Deadline for submission is May 7, 2012 at 5:00 PM EST.
